11 bands participate in the first Iberian edition of Liet International in Gijón/Xixón

On the 1st of December Laboral Ciudad de la Cultura (Culture City) in Gijón/Xixón will host the final of European minority song contest Liet International 2012. Liet International 2012 presents eleven finalists in eleven different minority languages. This year the participating languages are Asturian, Basque, Breton, Catalan from Sardinia, Corsican, Friulian, Frisian, Gaelic, Low-German, Sámi and Udmurtian from the Russian Federation....

Voting turnout at 70% in Catalunya 2012 Elections

Catalan party Convegencia I Unió (party in power) has won the elections and they will remain in power for the next four years. However, the Party's number of seats in the Parliament has gone down by 12, from 62 in 2010 elections to 50 today. These results have taken many by surprise.
