SUNS EUROPE: Europe’s Festival of Performing Arts in Minority Languages

Are you a songwriter, producer, singer in a minority language? It is your lucky day! For the first time, the city of Udine in the region Friulia (Italy) is organizing SUNS EUROPE, the European Festival of Performing Arts in Minority Languages. Between November 25th and December 11th 2015, singers and songwriters from all over Europe will gather together to perform and play the music created in a minority language. Known before as Liet International, this song contest wishes to bring together the best modern songs in European minority languages to support and strengthen the vitality of music created in lesser-used languages.

SUNS EUROPE is open to all European linguistic minorities as defined in the 1st Article of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages, that is, “languages that are traditionally used within a given territory of a State by nationals of that State who form a group numerically smaller than the rest of the State's population; and different from the official language(s) of that State”

Don’t miss your chance to submit your song before the 1st of October!

The NPLD acts to share best practice in language planning and to set up joint, funded language projects between its members.
