Short note on organisation background

OLCA is the association to promote and to insure the vitality of the Alsatian language (spoken in Alsace) and of the Platt language (spoken in the Moselle).

OLCA’s goal is to make sure that the Alsatian and Platt languages gain (again) and keep an appropriate room in social life, as regards the trilingual history of the region (Alsatian/Platt, French, German). That includes working with municipalities, associations, schools, companies, early childhood services and settings, and of course with families. Our main objective is to encourage parents and grandparents to pass the language on to their children, if they are still able to and if that’s their wish.
