
Delegates of the regions represented by NPLD met in Brussels on 1st February to share their projects when it comes to the promotion of their respective languages at EU level. Speakers of 13 European Constitutional, Regional and Small State (CRSS) languages took part in the meeting, hosted by the EU Liaison Office in Brussels of the Autonomous Province of Trento.
The delegates informed about the different challenges that their respective language communities are facing at home. At the same time, various proposals were raised to exchange best practices and to co-organise events to promote the CRSS languages in Brussels, such as a common project to celebrate the European Day of the Languages.
The participants on behalf of the NPLD members came from the Balearic Islands, the Basque Country, Brittany, Catalonia, the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Province of Fryslân, Galicia, the Autonomous Province of Trento and Valencia. Moreover, representatives of Faroe Islands and Greenland were also invited to join the initiative.
