Suns Europe Festival continues to support European minoritized languages in its new edition to open on 29th November, 2018 in Udine. Suns Europe is the European festival of performing arts in minority languages. Started in 2009 as a music contest for minority communities in Alpine-Mediterranean Europe, the festival has now developed into a place of encounter and exchange between artists of minoritized language groups in Europe. Along the Friulian hosts, the artists playing on the stage of Suns Europe will represent Grisons, the Catalan Countries, Finland’s Swedish minority, Galicia, the Basque Country, Wales, Lower Saxony and Ladinia.

On the 1st of December, the audience will proclaim the winner of the contest after an evening with the catchy and steady notes of Europop music, the rhythm of country folk and edgy post-rock sounds and much more.

Suns Europe is a project of Cooperativa Informazione Friulana, with the sponsorship of Arlef (Agjenzie Regjonâl pe Lenghe Furlane – Regional Agency for Friulian language), Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia, Municipality of Udine and Fondazione Friuli, in collaboration with Cooperativa Puntozero and other local and international organizations and under the auspices of the Council of Europe and Network to Promote Linguistic Diversity.
